Battlefield 2042 just dropped, and it certainly did not hit the ground running. The game now features in one of the less flattering lists out there. The game now finds itself in the worst-reviewed games on Steam. Considering his reception, it does not bode well with EA. Taking this into cognizance, Battlefield 2042 is all set to release a line of updates.
Battlefield 2042 fixes
Battlefield 2042 fans and players did not have a lot of good things to say about the game. They complained of extremely bad performance, seizure-inducing visual disturbances, broken hitboxes, broken vehicles, and much more. In fact, another major source of criticism was the lack of features that were present in the earlier titles.
DICE recently reiterated its express to fix these issues. They took to a blog post to highlight the series of changes and fixes they want to bring into the game. They plan to bring in multiple changes to improve the game’s status. An Update #2 will drop in the coming week. The community can also expect Update #3 in the early days of December.
It is also expected that the studio will also introduce more changes they have planned after the holiday season. The blog post reiterates their commitment to the title. They also vowed to introduce some barebones legacy features which are not present in the live build of this AAA title.
The list of missing features includes Voice Chat, Server Browser, and the End-of Match Scoreboard amongst many others. Terms of the fixes the game can see in its most recent update are:
Reduced spread globally when zoomed and moving
Improved stationary zoomed accuracy for many weapons
Spread now decreases faster and earlier when pacing shots. This means more success with single-fire or short bursts.
Increased PP-29 vertical recoil to ensure that the weapon does not overperform when engaging outside of its intended combat range
The game will also witness a fix to one of its vehicles. The hovercraft since launch has the ability to scale the top of buildings. The developers of the game did not intend to do that. Whether or not EA and DICE can salvage this mess of a release that is Battlefield 2042 is something only time will tell.
