‘I Smash You and Burns in 2 Mins’- Khamzat Chimaev Calls Out Kamaru Usman

Kamaru Usman revealed in an interview with GQ, that he was looking to rubber-stamp his status as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ recently spoke about moving up in weight class, not to middleweight, but two whole divisions up to light heavyweight.

Recently, Khamzat Chimaev took to Twitter to call out the number one pound-for-pound fighter and also claimed that he would “smash” him and Gilbert Burns in two minutes.

So your trying to change weight before I come for you? Don’t go anywhere I am coming! I smash you and burns in 2 mins believe me!

In an interview with GQ, Usman said,” I was going to skip Israel and go fight Jan at 205 [pounds]… Because I’m pound-for-pound, I want to prove it. No matter what weight it is, I thought he was a really good matchup for me.”

Many consider Chimaev to be the next welterweight champion. He is currently one of the most dominant and talented fighters on the roster. Throughout his time at the UFC, the Swedish fighter has been undefeated in the octagon.

He is currently on a dominant winning streak at the UFC. Many suspect that he will take on the number 2 ranked Gilbert Burns or the fifth-ranked contender Belal Muhammad in his next fight.

What’s next for Kamaru Usman?

There is no doubt that Usman is one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. He has beaten every fighter that the UFC has put him in the octagon with. The welterweight champion has five title defenses under his belt.

Leon Edwards is going to be next in line to face Kamaru Usman and get his first-ever UFC title shot. Edwards is currently on a nine-fight win streak and has made his way up to the top by beating some of the toughest competitors in the promotion.
