Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel share one of the most magnificent bonds in the entire racing fraternity, with the latter not only being a good friend but also a valuable mentor to the young German driver.
During race weekends, the German duo hardly spends time away from each other, with most of the cameras spotting the two engaging in deep conversations while roaming around in the paddock. What’s more, during the bizarre Belgian GP last year, Schumacher and Vettel even spent their time playing football inside the Aston Martin garage.
Amidst the ever-growing bromance, Mick Schumacher opened up that he would often go out to dinner with the four-time world champion if they fail to find time in the paddock. What’s more, he also joked about Vettel building up a good network of restaurants.
Schumacher jokes about Sebastian Vettel
During an exclusive interview with Sport Bild, Schumacher opened up about the importance of Vettel amid the learning process in Formula One.
“Along with Esteban Ocon, he is my closest confidant in the field. Sebastian helps me a lot. Seb is the mentor to me that my father was to him. Spending time with him is nice,” the Haas F1 driver said.

“If we’re not in the garage too long, we go out to dinner together in the evening. In his 15 years in Formula 1, he has now built up a very good network of restaurants. I also learn a lot from him there.”

Mick reveals his target for 2022
Haas endured a very pitiful couple of seasons in 2020 and 2021, mostly lurking at the bottom of the field. But, now, the regulation changes have shown up as a blessing for the American outfit and they could well target a personal best seasonal performance in 2022.

Schumacher, too, admitted that he has high hopes for the forthcoming era. “I have high hopes. We want a competitive car so that we can regularly fight for points. We have to be more consistent for that. Our goal is to be in the top third of Q2 or even in the top 10 in qualifying,” he said.
Overall, after a dull yet informative rookie campaign, will Mick Schumacher be able to secure his first championship points over the upcoming season?
