“I think really anybody in our generation got into golf when Tiger Woods took the scene,” Lester said. Undoubtedly, Tiger’s heroics brought immense popularity to the game. “So yeah, I mean that’s when golf became fun, golf became more than just your country club snobby type thing,” concluded Jon.

Notably, Jon is not the first to credit Tiger for golf’s growth. Jon revealed how golf was not always considered as a sport as people tuned in mostly on the last day of major events. But when Tiger arrived, he changed the whole mentality and brought popularity to the sport.

Truly, Tiger Woods revolutionized the game with his incredible golfing skills. He has 82 PGA Tour wins and 15 major championship wins in his career so far. However, Woods is currently recovering from a horrifying solo car crash. And even though he returned to the course at the PNC Championship, Tiger still needs a bit of time to gain the required strength in his leg before coming back on the PGA Tour.
