Tyson Fury Announces UK Homecoming After Promoter Frank Warren Wins $41 Million Purse Bid

After months of uncertainty, the undefeated lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is all set for an epic showdown in the United Kingdom. He will defend his WBC heavyweight title against the mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.

The probability of Anthony Joshua stepping aside to allow Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s battle ended with the purse bid. After the bid, ‘The Gypsy King’ took to Twitter to confirm the news about his next in-ring outing. He wrote, “Big GK is coming home! UK baby!”

The fight between Fury and Whyte was delayed due to a negotiation breakdown earlier. This was because the bidders decided on an 80/20 purse split in the champion’s favor, which Dillian Whyte’s company was not in favor of. Therefore, a purse bid was announced.

Finally, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren, who runs Queensberry Promotions, won the purse bid of $41 million along with Top Rank’s Bob Arum.

What does Tyson Fury think about the upcoming fights?

‘The Gypsy King’ is sweating hard and posting his training videos on social media platforms. Although Tyson Fury was keen to fight Oleksandr Usyk, he will have to win one more fight and hope that ‘The Cat’ can beat ‘AJ’ again. However, he will have absolutely no issue if he has to battle Joshua for the belts.

After confirmation of the fight, Fury mocked ‘The Body Snatcher’. ‘The Gypsy King’ said, “I can’t wait to punch Dillian Whyte’s face right in…Dillian Whyte, train hard sucka, cause you’re getting annihilated, bum.”

Fury’s fight with ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte has confirmed that Anthony Joshua is going to face Oleksandr Usyk in the rematch. Hence, whoever emerges superior in these two fights will battle for the undisputed heavyweight title.
