WATCH: Jimmy Butler Continues Bad Boy Season in Latest Scuffle With Timberwolves Star

The Miami Heat became the latest team to fall victim to the Minnesota Timberwolves’ winning streak. One of the main reasons for this could be a tame performance from Miami star Jimmy Butler, who just had nine shots all night. While the box score may suggest he had a quiet night, any fan who watched the game would say otherwise.

Butler having a stellar season in terms of numbers, but he is also having a ‘bad boy’ season. After threatening to fight Nikola Jokic, almost clashing with Wizards youngster Deni Avdija, tonight, he was close to having another fight, this time with Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards.

Late into the third quarter, Butler was guarding Edwards and forced him into a travel. Butler then proceeded to snatch the ball away from Edwards’ hands, before the Timberwolves star returned the favor with an annoyed push. Butler was ready to come to blows with Edwards after that, before his teammate and the referee intervened to separate the two.

Jimmy Butler: Both hero and villain for the Miami Heat?

Since his arrival in South Beach in 2019, Jimmy Butler has changed the Heat franchise. He is helping them to return to the top once again, after leading them to the NBA Finals in his first season. Although they had a forgetful season last year, this time he looks determined to bring in better results.

So far, he is averaging 23.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game on a career-high 52% from the field. His all-round displays have helped the Heat to be the second-best team in the East currently, only behind the Nets. And so he is also a strong MVP candidate if he is able to continue these performances.

Butler’s performances could make or break the season for the Heat, which is why they will be worried about his frequent scuffles. Already into three fights so far, the Heat would want their star player to avoid any possible suspension, both now and in the playoffs. Butler is crucial for their success, so coach Erik Spoelstra will want his star to calm down and avoid unnecessary fights.
